About

Hello and welcome!
I’m Kendra,
a hairdresser, makeup artist, educator, fashion lover, literature enthusiast and expert accessorizer.

Some wonderful women in my life have paved the way for me to follow my dreams to make the world a more beautiful place. My mom is the amazing photographer for many of my concept photo shoots. My passion for the arts goes back to my grandmother (Moggie) who is a wonderful painter and crafter extraordinaire. My love for hair comes from my great grandmother (Honey) who owned a beauty shop and was an eccentric jewel of a woman. Both of these women also inspired my obsession with fashion (specifically accessories). I remember going into Moggie’s closet when I was little and taking out what seemed like hundreds of pairs of shoes and lining them up along the walls down the hallway. Honey was a lover of costume jewelry, and I never tired of looking through all of her beautiful things and dreaming of the day when I was old enough to be as glamorous as her. She had a nude self-portrait on a velvet canvas in her bathroom and I was sure she must have been a famous actress or something equally enchanting and sensational.

I have a very specific style aesthetic (something that I have dubbed granny-grunge), but I pride myself in having an eclectic range. I love the idea of taking very classic pieces and using them as a backdrop for wonderful accessories. I take much of my inspiration from celebrities (past and present). My style icons include Gwyneth Paltrow, Audrey Hepburn, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Aniston, and Bridgette Bardot.

I married my best friend in 2006. His unyielding support and love have given me the courage to always be myself and I love him more than words.

And after years of praying, in 2013 we added a tiny blessing to our family. He has added so much joy and love to our lives and we thank God every day for sending us such a sweet boy to love and care for.

I believe that God gives us each gifts to use to make the world a better place and making people feel good about themselves is my gift. Our world is lacking the compassion that we all desperately need. How we feel about our appearance affects so much of our attitudes towards life, so if I can create positivity within one woman, maybe she will spread it to others and we can live in a kinder and more compassionate world.
